The core elements of concert promotion are very similar to the five keys to successful journalism: who, what, when, where, and how. Who is performing, what type of event is it, when and where will the event be held, how do we get tickets and how much will they cost. The job of promotion is to first provide this information and then to stimulate interest. The best promoters work to make each show a must-see event. The other equation is to put the right act in the right venue on the right date for the right ticket price.
